Effective speed dating
It is quite simply a social affair where younger, less experienced people are given an opportunity to gain guidance and input from a range of more experienced people. Real and meaningful mentoring is founded upon a relationship. These events usually involve a lot of mingling up front, followed by the “speed mentoring” merry-go-round. It is not something that can be provided in a quick 10 minutes accompanied by a glass or two of wine.Get your participants off to a good start by using these icebreaker activities in your own workplace.Even in your regularly scheduled, weekly meetings, a brief icebreaker makes a difference in the resulting employee conversations.Basically, speed mentoring involves a “mentee” rotating between a number of different “mentors”, with a limited time available to meet each “mentor” and garner some knowledge or advice. The term and basic methodology is used for two quite different functions.
Neither can be gained in the din of a fast and furious round of musical mentors.
I know this maybe a generalisation but most of the people going to clubs don’t really have a lot else going on in their lives apart from getting drunk. Can you just walk up to a person you find attractive in public and start a conversation?
If you are like the majority of the people I imagine you find it very difficult.
If you did…you would probably not be on this page right now.
🙂 In my opinion there are only 2 advantages to online dating.
